Upgrading Ubiquiti Nanostation2 firmware to OSWave

Please make sure your Ubiquti Nanostation2 is running AirOS Firmware v. 2.2.1 before proceeding. If it does not, then please make sure to upgrade device to the AirOS Firmware v. 2.2.1 firmware before you start.

Upgrading from default Nanostation2 firmware to OSWave requires use of intermediary firmware. Both the intermediary firmware and OSWave 2.21R firmware (with Nanostation2 support included) are available for download here:

Please make sure you have these files available on your local drive before proceeding with upgrade.

We start by logging into Nanostation2 web interface (on default IP address 192.168.1.20 with login "ubnt" and password "ubnt" if you did not change them):

After you click on "System" following screen will appear:

Please press the Upgrade button, browse for NS2_Intermediary_Firmware_For_OSWave.bin file and then press Upload.

Please confirm you want to upgrade to "NS2.to.OSWave.Intermediary.ar2316.v3.0.2417.080110.2150":

And so the firmware upgrade process will follow:

Upgrade process takes approximately 60 seconds after which the device will come back up on IP Address 192.168.1.77.

Enter http://192.168.1.77 in your Web Browser and intermediary firmware screen appears:

Browse for OSWave_2.21R.bin file, press SUBMIT and upgrade process will start.

Now, it will take about 240 seconds for first bootup and initial system reconfiguration, please make sure to not interrupt this operation.

After reboot the Nanostation2 will come back up with OSWave firmware on it's default IP address: 192.168.1.251 (netmask 255.255.255.0). Please use your web browser and start at http://192.168.1.251 to see the following login screen:

Please use following default login/password to log into the device:

Login: admin
Password: public

to see Default System Information Page:

Downgrading Ubiquiti Nanostation2 running OSWave to the original firmware

If at any time you decide to downgrade OSWave firmware to the original Ubiquiti Nanostation2 firmware then please follow these simple steps:

In the OSWave system please go to the "Upgrade Firmware" link to see following screen:

Please locate appropriate firmware for Ubiquiti Nanostation2 - Firmware v. 2.2.1 - and press the SUBMIT button to proceed with firmware upgrade. After few second following screen will appear:

Please allow about 240 seconds for firmware reflash (Please make sure you do not interrupt this process) and after that time your Ubiquiti Nanostation2 will again be available with it's default firmware and factory default configuration at http://192.168.1.20.
