Upgrading Engenius EOC-5610 firmware to OSWave

Upgrading from stock Engenius EOC-5610 firmware to OSWave requires use of intermediary firmware. Both the intermediary firmware and OSWave 2.30R firmware (with Engenius EOC-5610 support included) are available for download here:

Please make sure your EOC-5610 bridge is running firmware 1.0.37 prior to upgrade. If necessary, it is available for download here: EOC_5610_v37.zip

Please make sure you have these files available on your local drive before proceeding with upgrade.

We start by logging into EOC-5610 web interface (on default IP address 192.168.1.1 with login "admin" and password "admin" if you did not change them):

After you click on "Firmware Upgrade" following screen will appear:

Please press the Upgrade button, browse for OSWave_Intermediary_Firmware_for_EOC-5610_v2.zip file and then press Upload.


The firmware upgrade process will follow:

Upgrade process takes approximately 120 seconds after which the device will come back up on IP Address 192.168.1.77.

Enter http://192.168.1.77 in your Web Browser and intermediary firmware screen appears:

Browse for OSWave_2.30R.bin file, press SUBMIT and upgrade process will start.

Now, it will take about 300 seconds for the first OSWave start and initial system reconfiguration, please make sure to not interrupt this operation.

After reboot the Engenius EOC-5610 will come back up with OSWave firmware on it's default IP address: 192.168.1.251 (netmask 255.255.255.0). Please use your web browser and start at http://192.168.1.251 to see the following login screen:

Please use following default login/password to log into the device:

Login: admin
Password: public

to see Default System Information Page:

Downgrading Engenius EOC-5610 running OSWave to the original firmware

If at any time you decide to downgrade OSWave firmware to the original Engenius EOC-5610 firmware then please follow these simple steps:

In the OSWave system please go to the "Upgrade Firmware" link to see following screen:

Please locate appropriate firmware for Engenius EOC-5610 - OSWave_to_Original_Firmware_EOC5610.bin - and press the SUBMIT button to proceed with firmware upgrade. After few second following screen will appear:

Please allow about 300 seconds for original firmware to reflash (Please make sure you do not interrupt this process).
After that time your Engenius EOC-5610 will again be available with it's default firmware and factory default configuration at http://192.168.1.1.
