Upgrading Wistron CA-8 or Wistron RDAA-81 (Wistron CA8-PRO) firmware to OSWave
In this example we are using firmware RDAA-81-GENERIC-v1.00e09.bin for Wistron RDAA-81 and ca8-4-v1.08e05.bin for Wistron CA-8 and we assume this firmware is already up and running on these devices before we start.
To get started you must first login into RDAA-81 Web Management interface. The default IP address for that device is 192.168.1.1 (your configuration may vary if you have already altered it) so after entering http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser you will see this stock firmware login screen:
Now, please don't click on the "YES" button just yet. Please allow additional 10 seconds to make sure the device finishes writing new firmware to the flash memory. While this may sound unecessary it actually is a very good idea to wait that additional time - we have seen situations where device was still writing to the flash memory while the Firmware Upgrade Finished screen appeared and pressing YES in that case caused the firmware to be corrupted. To avoid that please wait that additional 10 seconds and then press YES to have the device rebooted.
Now, it will take about 120 seconds for first bootup and initial system reconfiguration, please make sure to not interrupt this operation. After reboot the device will come back up with OSWave firmware on it's default IP address: 192.168.1.251 (netmask 255.255.255.0). Please use your web browser and start at http://192.168.1.251 to see the following login screen:
